The One with the Face Plant

Cute little Emma turns two this week.  She’s seriously the smartest 2 year old I’ve ever met.  And pretty dang cute too! But boy did she make me work for a good smile!!

We started off in the mud, with all kinds of distractions.  And for a curious 2 year old, that means no smiles for the stranger with the camera.

Then we tried to go for a walk.  On the gravel.  Because cute walking pictures are my favorite.  But this sweet 2 year old got excited and totally wiped out and face planted right into the gravel. There were tears.  And some blood.  Thank goodness for baby wipes and her favorite blanket, pinky.  And stories.  She sure loves books.  Phew.

But what really got her to finally warm up, were grandma and grandpa.  And they’re gorgeous front yard with the most beautiful tree.  Ok, that got me really excited.  I doubt Emma really cared about that amazing tree with the perfect light peeking through it. Thank goodness for grandma and grandpa! They saved the day, and Emma turned on that adorable smile and all was right in the world again.

And the face plant was forgotten. Phew.

It's about more than hiring someone to hold a camera and snap a few pics. Wedding photography is about capturing the joyful, bright, authentic moments of your big day in a way that beautifully tells the story of your love.

Your moments matter.
