The One with My Baby Sister

It feels like so long ago I was getting engaged and planning a wedding!  Man were things different then!  Two words: No Pinterest.  Now it’s my baby sister’s turn.  She met and fell in love with just the sweetest guy.  However, I’d be lying if I said we all jumped on board the second we found out they were that serious!  She’s the baby of FIVE.  It was always going to be this way.  And it really has nothing to do with the guy.  Because he’s pretty awesome, and will fit in perfectly to our family.  I mean, there are a lot of perks to being the youngest of the family (at least from my oldest child perspective!).  But there’s also a lot of opinionated older siblings. So a big life decisions, like GETTING MARRIED, means the guy gets put through the ringer.  I bet he’s glad that’s over!

So anyway, my baby sister is getting married!  And I’m the photographer!  And engagement pictures happened.  It was SO fun!  I actually took my other sister’s engagement pictures waaaaay back before I ever had dreams of being a photographer, and basically didn’t have a clue what I was doing.  And I used a dinky point and shoot camera.  Shudder.  So, it’s safe to say, this sister got a WAY better deal.  Phew.

Her fiancé, Braxton, is from Michigan.  So I took a little day trip to Detroit and met them there, and forced the two love birds to make out in front of my camera all day.  We spent most of our time at the most beautiful private school grounds/botanical gardens.  How is that even a thing?!!  It was so gorgeous, I couldn’t stop taking pictures!  I don’t think poor Braxton had any idea what he was getting himself into! But they killed it, even though Mel couldn’t do a serious face to save her life.  It’s ok though, because they’re just SO happy!

So many emotions about my baby sister getting married!  First of all, HOW is she old enough?  Second of all, HOW am I this old? But in all seriousness, I can’t wait to be there when it all happens.  I’m so happy for you Mel!  Love you!
