Sometimes, wrenches are thrown into plans (looking at you COVID), and everything falls apart. This was NOT one of those times. Yes, original plans were hit hard. Yes, those plans changed more than once. But the new plans turned into pure magic. And the most perfect, small summer St. Louis wedding came to life.
Michaela and Shane were surrounded by their closest family, at the church they’d both grown up in, for a small, intimate ceremony. They made their promises and said their vows in front of the most important people in their lives. While they had rain the night before during rehearsal, the sun came out in full force to shine down on their moment. The priest commented that “God had poured out His love last night, and is shining down on you today.”
As they exited the church, as husband and wife, Michaela and Shane were greeted by a parking lot full of family and friends who were able to watch their ceremony via live stream! It was a wedding tailgate party! And the BEST idea!
The day ended in the backyard of Michaela’s childhood home. This particular backyard had seen many a graduation party, and celebration over the years, but this one was sure to take the cake. Simple, yet romantic details, with a casual air, made for the perfect evening spent with the perfect people.
Michaela and Shane, it is clear to me that you are so loved. I can also clearly see the love you have for each other. I hope you never forget how happy you were on this magical day! It was so special being a part of it! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Doherty!
