Kate and Bailey’s Hermann Hill summer wedding was straight out of a Nicholas Sparks novel. Beginning at a small stone church in the country and ending with sunset pictures on the bluffs of the Missouri river. These middle school sweethearts had the perfect day. Kate met Bailey at 4-H camp, and couldn’t stop talking about […]

The Love Challenge | 14 Days, 14 Acts of Love

We did it! We made it through January! And now it’s time to think about the one you love. Yup, in just 14 short days, the holiday dedicated to all things love will be here.  Are you ready? I mean aside from raiding the Target Valentine’s Day aisle! 😉 Because I have a challenge for you.  A love challenge to be exact! 14 days, 14 acts of love.  Are you up for it? Will you accept the love challenge?

This challenge is for anyone in love.  You can be dating, engaged, married for a month, or married for 50 years (or more!).  If you’re in love, this is for you.  It’s going to be so much fun! And it’ll be even more fun, if you get that person you love on board too.  Ready?

The Love Challenge

Ok, it’s February 1st.  Valentine’s Day is February 14th.  You have 14 days to complete this challenge.

I’ve come up with a list of 14 different acts of love, and each day you choose which one to do!  Some acts of love will be quick, some will take a little more time.  If you skip a day, double up the next day! The point is to have fun, and spend the next two weeks focused on the one you love.  I’m in! Are you?!

The Love Challenge | 14 Days, 14 Acts of Love

  1. Say I love you at least 20 times – get creative, and don’t do it all at once!
  2. Write a love letter to the one you love – handwritten letters are a thing of the past, but oh so romantic!
  3. Send a lovey-dovey text – who doesn’t love a random sweet text message?!
  4. Reenact your first kiss – this can be hilarious, and fun!
  5. Turn your phones off and watch a movie – HER choice
  6. Slow dance to your song – in the kitchen, in the driveway, in the bedroom, the possibilities are endless!
  7. Turn your phones off and watch a movie – HIS choice
  8. Random act of service – go out of your way to do something nice for the one you love!
  9. Write down your love story – this might take a little while, but it is SO worth it! Check mine out HERE
  10. Take the love language quiz – I’m a BIG believer in knowing and understanding each other’s love language. You can find the online quiz HERE
  11. Leave a sweet note somewhere for your love to find – bathroom mirror? Inside the fridge? Get creative!
  12. Get dressed up and go to your favorite restaurant – Date night!
  13. What 3 things do you love most about your love? Tell them! – Be specific, and make their day!
  14. Give a thoughtful gift – big or small, that’s up to you, but really think about what would make your love feel loved!

I’ll be posting reminders and encouragement to my Instagram stories and Facebook, so be sure and follow along! I’d also love to see who else is accepting the challenge! Use the hashtag #thelovechallenge and tag me, @emilybroadbentphotography, if you’re in!

My husband and I did something similar to this years ago for an entire month, and it was not only fun, but SO good for our marriage! Sometimes you need a little push to shake things up a bit and remember why you’re in love.  I bet you’ll fall in love all over again. Just call me cupid!

Let’s do this! Save this checklist to your phone, screenshot it, download it, whatever you need to do to keep it handy! And let the love challenge begin!
