Aquila Barn Wedding | Mandy and Anthony

Mandy and Anthony’s Aquila Barn wedding from this past weekend is a summer dream! Complete with rustic decor and an adorable boat shoot, we were all feelin’ the love.

History of Love

Mandy and Anthony grew up together – and childhood sweethearts really have a special kind of love, don’t they? I loved seeing their love and comfortability play out throughout the day. In addition to their enduring love story, both Mandy and Anthony have generations of examples of long marriages. Such a sweet reminder of unconditional love!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

The weather forecast for Mandy and Anthony’s wedding day called for rain – and lots of it! 100% chance of rain definitely could have put a damper on Mandy’s dream of having an outdoor ceremony, but thankfully the storm held off just long enough for the ceremony and ALL the pictures afterwards! It definitely blew in, but we were very lucky to have it hold off just long enough for Mandy’s dream to come true.

Family Heirlooms

One of my favorite things to photograph at a wedding is family heirlooms and special traditions. Mandy and Anthony were able to use several family heirlooms for their ceremony, tying in to family tradition along the way. The cake cutter and champagne glasses were used by Mandy’s parents in their wedding, and the card box belonged to the bride’s great aunt who passed.

Big Car Family

One more way that Mandy and Anthony were able to tie their family and family traditions into their wedding day was through cars. Mandy’s family is big into restoring old cars, and have a tradition of taking pictures with them on wedding days. These are sweet reminders of their long family history of enduring marriages for sure. But it also makes for some killer photos!

Mandy and Anthony are following their wedding with a honeymoon in Myrtle Beach, SC and Ashville, NC.

Thank you, Mandy and Anthony, for allowing me to capture your love story!

It's about more than hiring someone to hold a camera and snap a few pics. Wedding photography is about capturing the joyful, bright, authentic moments of your big day in a way that beautifully tells the story of your love.
