Maria and Nick’s Marriott Grand St. Louis wedding was a day full of sweet moments (and a few touch and go – weather problems, right!). These two sweethearts clearly are so in love, and I can’t wait for you to get to to know them!
High School Sweethearts
Maria and Nick are high school sweethearts. While they started dating their sophomore year of high school, they actually met when they were in first grade! In another throwback to their early days, they were married in St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church, the church they both attended in grade school.
Family Heirlooms
Before Maria’s grandmother passed away, she told Maria she just wanted her to have a beautiful dress on her wedding day. It was fitting that Maria wore an Italian-made dress, just like her Italian heritage! In a sweet touch of family, both Maria and Nick wore family heirlooms on their wedding day. The ring Maria wore on her right hand is her great grandmother’s ring, and the necklace she wore is her grandmothers. Nick’s watch, cuff links and wedding band are his grandfathers. Having that piece of your family’s history with you on your wedding day is the perfect touch of “something borrowed.”
Getting Ready
The night before her big day, Maria spent the night at the hotel. She and her party also got ready there, allowing for a stress-free morning. Several tokens were given before the wedding, with the bride groom, and parents all opening special gifts. Maria chose not to do a first look with Nick, but she did have one with her father in a touching moment. In fact, the entire wedding party, minus the groom, rode to the ceremony location by bus!
Rain, As Usual
As soon as the ceremony was over, and we headed downtown for pictures, we drove straight into a torrential downpour/thunderstorm. Thankfully, it didn’t last long – the sun came out and we ended up with gorgeous pictures! Wedding day miracle!
Elegant Marriott Grand St. Louis Wedding Reception
Maria and Nick’s Marriott Grand St. Louis wedding reception was an elegant affair, planned by Sabrina Torti of Proposing Dreams. Decorated in white, with soft florals by Tina Barrera of The Special Event Florist and cake by Cake House Design, every aspect of the décor meshed cohesively with the distinctive soft green and white of the ballroom. The whole day was captured by Millennium Productions. The vendor team for this wedding was a dream!
Maria and Nick are enjoying their honeymoon in Antigua as we speak – and aren’t they lucky! Thank you for allowing me to capture your big day!
